Last night was definitely a wonderful night. My first SG meeting at Michelle's awesome house! :) I was really really paranoid about going as I am new and as always. Turns out, it wasn't that scary. :)
Anyways, we looked back on the scripture that we had last sunday, Psalm 138:14-18 - father's love. I thought I would cry again but thank God, He gave me enough strength for that. I was able to share what I am not able to share to my friends outside the church. The feeling was so good when you know that there is someone or some people that are willing to listen to you. Not the kind of people that will say, 'oh I don't have time for your drama', imagine you're feeling really bad already and what are you gonna feel after hearing that from a friend?
EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT. Each one of us is unique. We have our own talents, own skills and our own characteristics. :) I know we look up to some people and we tend to copy or follow what or how they are. I'm not saying that its bad but, don't you think its nice to be original?? I mean to be your own self. The person you're trying to look up to has his or her own style and characteristics so why follow them? Creating something new always gives benefits to other people. Let's take some people I know for example shall we?
Let me start with myself. What am I good at? I know that I can draw, I know I can make animation... How do I learn? Sometimes, I learn from my teachers but most of the times I learn by myself. Then there's person B whose learning technique is learning from books. So do I have to follow what person B is doing? His method of learning? Not necessarily because I can improve and learn new things by myself :)
Another example. Let's take a friend of mine who is very good in photoshop, I am nowhere near good as her. Do I copy her style? No, cuz her style is unique and mine is unique. Besides, if I'm good at animation, I don't have to compete with her doing photoshop right? I mean, she is different, I am different. :) Yes Niks, this is you! :)
One more thing I have learnt last night. You never laugh at people's mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes ok. Nobody is perfect.
Laughing at one's flaws will discourage one's self. It's like what happened last night, I made a lot of mistakes and all but did Aaron and the people around me laugh? No, instead they encouraged me.
Discouragement leads to one's failure. So please don't discourage anyone. :)
Last night was really awesome. I'm looking forward for the next meeting!!! :)
