Here's a little story from the Bible. :)
Jonah and the Big Fish
Jonah was a prophet of God. He was commanded by God to go Nineveh, which was a very sinful city. But Jonah decided to disobey the Lord. Instead, he wanted to go to Tarshish. At last, he found a ship going to Tarshish.
Inside the ship, Jonah slept soundly. Suddenly, the wind blew. It became stronger... and stronger. The people inside the ship were afraid. In order to know the reason for the strong wind, somebody suggested that they would cast lots. So they cast lots and the lost fell on Jonah.
"Aha! You are the culprit," shouted the captain of the ship, "Get out of this ship!"
The people inside the ship threw Jonah. "Aaaaaaah, -Have pity on me!"
Poor Jonah... A big fish swallowed him. Inside the fish, it was dark and dirty. Jonah was inside the fish for three days and three nights. He remembered how he hardened his heart before the Lord.
He knelt down and cried, "Lord, forgive me. From now on, I will do whatever you command me to do. Salvation is yours!"
The big fish spew Jonah at the shore of Niniveh. He fearlessly proclaimed the Word of God to the people. "Repent of your shop. Do not serve other gods! Worship the Almighty God, the Creator of all things!"
So the people of Nineveh were revived including their king.
The Lord was so pleased with what Jonah did.
So why did I share this story?
We're people. Its really inevitable to sin. We all make mistakes. We are not perfect. Its human nature to make mistakes but what are we scared of? We're scared of talking to ask for forgiveness.
I made lots of mistakes, I wasn't able to avoid them even how hard I want to. One thing that I've learnt is that, our God is very forgiving. He's merciful! Why are we even scared to ask for forgiveness like what Jonah did? I'm still looking for the answer...
What am I trying to say here is that, if someone did something to you and you think its wrong, don't use vulgar words in FACEBOOK! I'm just concerned on how people are saying those vulgar words are growing in numbers. :(
Here's a new phrase for you, FORGIVE AND FORGET!
Don't get me wrong. I've been there. I was ONCE like that. I say vulgar words to a person when I was angry or they did something wrong. You're just about to go there and I'm already going back. It consumed me. I loved saying them before.
Some people knows Tyrone. He was one of my sworn enemy. I was really really angry. But now, God melt away my anger and taught me how to forgive.
If God can forgive, YOU can too.
LOVE THE UNLOVABLE.
